Oh and that egg was dis it was cracked. so I removed the shell and the chick was dead.

Great news on your first chick, if these are first time parents don't be too eager to handle chick until other eggs are hatched or they may not sit etc. also don't decide to remove any suspect eggs early as they may be just a couple of days late hatching, if you remove them and chick is still alive when you open it chick will die, even if it's a day or so away from hatching until all yolk is absorbed they can even bleed to death from the last of egg yolk.

 

Looks like your chick has been fed so Mum is on the job. Good luck with other eggs.

Congratulations on the little baby, it looks very healthy. Hopefully it will be a beautiful bird, I've just taken the boxes out for my birds.

Finally another one has hatched.

For some reason the other hatched egg shell was over the top of the unhatched egg, is this just a random thing or does others do this lol.

tilly's last egg has hatched last night or today.

There parents are Mr And Mrs Teddy. So I expect them to be coming out like them probably lets see.

2 of Apples eggs have hatched.

 

Mrs Teddy's egg she laid the other day, she throw out of the nestbox. Hmmm why she doing this?

Mrs Teddy laid today and now is sitting on a dummy egg, I have removed her egg.

 

I will put back once she has another one there.

good work on the 2 new babies that have hatched, looks like the breeding is going really well with your birds.

Well Mrs Teddy threw the dummy egg out.

She does this on the day she lays.

She will sleep in the nestbox tonight after she lays. then the next night she won't sleep in the nestbox. pattern keeps goings.

anyone had this happen?

 

Apples threw one of her eggs out today it wasn't cracked or anything, I just put it back in the nestbox.

I know its her now I seen her do it lol.

 

she was very smug about it

okay apples other eggs where all dis. so she is left with 2 chicks to feed.

 

Tilly is left with 3 chicks to feed the chicks have had leg bands on them

one of apples you can defiantly tell lol.

one of tills or mrs teddies can't tell.

You putting slab down? or making a base with pavers?

I can't put a slab down unfortunately. We are renting. :/

When we buy our house (hopefully this year!) I will put a slab down.

I might use tiles. I have seen others do it. But it's difficult as I can use anything to fill the gaps. I have seen people use wire mesh on the bottom so if nice or snakes dig under they still can't get through. I might do that actually. Far easier to move when needed and they can have some grass
