Posted January 6, 201312 yr Hi i have just started breeding budgies and i would like to know when the budgies breeding season is in australia or if they do have a breeding season?
January 6, 201312 yr Hi Speckles, welcome to the forum! I see that you have also asked this same question randomly in an old thread of someone elses. I deleted that one, because you have this nice new thread of your own, which will work better for getting your answers. Hopefully an Australian will come on here to answer your question. Being in the U.S., I'm not quite sure what the timing is like for you over there. I do know that some breeders avoid the hot summer months, but others don't.
January 7, 201312 yr Hi That can depend on where you live, I general pair up in march and breed through to November , My location is near Sydney and close to the coastline. Hope this helps
January 7, 201312 yr Hi budgies are programmed to breed when conditions suit, so they cycle in condition throughout the year. Just be mindful of the weather conditions and breed when it suits you best as they need extra attention when breeding. Cheers Jenny
