November 8, 201212 yr Recessive Pied Cock and Albino Hen 100% normal blues All split recessive pied Males split ino Dom pied cock and Yell Face Dilute Are you sure she is dilute? I would love a better shot to see if she is type one or two yellowface as your male is type two. He is also opaline. Below are based on what you state and what I see Dom pied opaline yellow face type 2 cock and yellowface (type 2 for now) Dilute Yellowface dom pied Yellowface blues All hens opaline All Split Dilute
November 12, 201212 yr Author Thanks i`m told she is: She looks like a sf yellowface I possibly greywing or (spangle I doubt it ) Geoff
November 12, 201212 yr Author Re the 100% blue offspring, Will the Blue normals be just, that or if grewing or dilute blue the same colours. What if the father is also split for something, will that still be the same result only showing when those chicks are bred. or could I expect something else than blue ie: yellowface ? Geoff
November 12, 201212 yr Your pied male looks to be greywing as well or spangle it is a bit hard to tell. There are many possibilities if you don't know their genetic history, the hen could be masking all different varieties that are hidden because she is albino. The male also could be carrying anything, it is hard to predict with any certainty but that's the fun of it. Nerwens predictions are for a skyblue recessive pied male to a skyblue albino hen. Is the pied male also the bird next to the albino in the bottom picture?, if so he is definitely spangle as well so you will also get spangles from the pairing. Cheers Jenny
November 12, 201212 yr Author Great Jenny He is next to the Albino and on the wire slightly above, I will be so pleased to get Spangles. So colours will be Sky Blue anything else poss. Sitting 5 Eggs due in a few days! Val
November 12, 201212 yr She looks like a sf yellowface I possibly greywing or (spangle I doubt it ) I was wondering if she was spangle with the unfocused picture above. May mixed spangle for greywing. What does her tail look like? The quill of the tail too (black, clear, grey?) I gave details of information known - many birds are split for something but it is part of the fun when using bird you don't have a history for. I di not state any dark factors as the Ino hen could have any, that will show in the young if you get sky and cobalt. Hilly may be right and the recessive is greywing.
