Posted November 1, 201212 yr Hello all. Thank you for your answeres, but I have a sad news. I wanted to check on the hen today and I found her dead in the box. I went right away to a familiar breeder - he said that it is probably becouse she did not managed to lay another egg. I was familiar with this and she was just fine at the evening no signs at all. I did candeled the eggs - one looks good the other empty. I took a hen from that breeder, one that raised chicks before - he told me to try to put her there, perhaps she will sit on the eggs. I do not think it will help becouse she was inside the box but went out and not in there for a hour allready. I am planing to keep her with the male. I wanted to ask though if I should remove the eggs now? Is it okay to put a new hen with the male that just lost the first one for they to breed? I am a cockatiel breeder but do not know many things about budgies. Thanks again.
November 1, 201212 yr Hi There's not much diff between cockies & budgies Get rid of the eggs, take out the box until the birds get to know each other & then put the box back. Or she could lay unfertilised eggs...B.J. Edited November 1, 201212 yr by Bird Junky
