October 27, 201212 yr Well, it's really hard to tell from the small photos. I zoomed my page in to make them bigger, but it's still a little unclear. I'd say the green one is a boy, but the other one is too hard to tell from that photo.
October 27, 201212 yr Author Will try to figure out how to put big pics up thanks for the reply Also if it helps the green is quite but bites the violet one chirps and doesn't bite as much
October 27, 201212 yr I'd say Green is cock bird, no 2. grey? Hen. Green looks older than grey, grey still looks to have baby stripes on head so under 3 mths. my guess only l.o.l.
October 27, 201212 yr the green is a girl from what you have told me because females have a stronger bite than males and the grey is a male i think? Edited October 27, 201212 yr by Budgieperson
October 28, 201212 yr try can get shots that don't wash out the cere colours - can you tell us what colour you see the as? yes hens can bite more than males bu it can also be that the green was handled less and the wing clip seems messy so poor handling could cause the harder bite. I think you green is a hen the violet could be male. both birds are young
October 29, 201212 yr I agree with Nerwen about the behavior. A tame bird will bite less than a non tame one, regardless of gender. And just because boys usually bite gentler, doesn't mean all boys will. Plus, there have been a LOT of people who swore their hen was a male based on it's displaying male courting behavior during its adolescence. I've found that hens will often act like males for a while as they are growing up. Do you have other pictures of them posted somewhere else? Cuz I'm not seeing how Nerwen knows about a poor wing clip job.
October 29, 201212 yr Author Yes it's under the the same kind of heading straight under this post. Appreciate everyone's help...it's funny they both bite probably scared
November 5, 201212 yr Yellow boy blue girl? They still look pretty young because of there eyes are still full black normally they have white ring in there eye if they are an adult so I would say about 6-14 months old
November 5, 201212 yr Hi I'm going to stick my neck out & guess the green is around 3-4 months old starting to moult is a hen. the other bird is much younger & I'm guessing a cock...What's the prize for guessing right??????....B.J.
