Hello all, I was wondering if someone could help me sex my budgie for me. I've had snowy for about 2 months now, when I got my bird from the breeder he said he/she was about 9 weeks old. I have noticed in the last couple of weeks the cere has been peeling to reveal the blue colour.

Hi the others will correct me if im wrong but im thinking that it is a male but i may be wrong

I believe that is a male, I have had one of my males cere got a strong brown and then go back to blue. I was told it may has some hormonal problems or something like that.

Very pretty bird I'm confused to:-(

i believe you have a male - the brown doesn't seem as crusty as a hen's normally is and the blue is darker than a hen out of breeding condition gets (it is more pale)

 

Can you tell us some behaviour of the bird? Is there lots of chewing and distorying things like paper? or lots of singing (not screeching/dolphin sounds)?
