hi guys this is not from me this is my cousin she just started and this is what she wanted to say

 

i think drew (budgie) is realy sick, he has go a bad case of mites!! i have tryed what the vets have said and it hasnt worked. my mum wont let me take him to the vet i dont no why. i have tyied many things such as the old way licking him feet. please help when ever i touch him beak he makes a crying noise and he tries to bit me. Please help me and if u cant to anything can u please make a form for me on this because i am not able to do that yet. please help

hi im her cousin i will send a picture to roseydoo on ipod then she will put it up.

 

okay his name is drew, male with light blue body and black and blue wings. he is in a cage with one other bird. the other bird (halo) is also a male but is purple. this matter is annoying my bird. he scratches alot. we clean his cage once a week. we have sprayed the cage with a speacial spray that the pet shop has suggested, but still nothing is working. we have put a liquid on him and halo still hasnt worked. drew is 2 years old and halo is 7 months. please help me i really want him to get better.

Hi Is he scratching a lot? Have you seen mites under his feathers? If yes you can get drops to put on him from the pet shop.

& you should put it on both birds. Clean the cage & paint it over with a cheap bleach to kill any hiding

in the cracks.... Please explain. "Licking his feet"......B.J.

hi bird junky yeah he is scratching alot umm i havent see mights under his feathers. hes not licking his feet but he bits and screatches them alot. and i will be sure to try all of these things thank u so much

Hi, sounds like you may have scaly face mites? What "liquid" did you put on them? If it was Ivamectin, how long since you treated them?

 

A picture would really help, also full information on what is happening so we may be able to advise further.

the two liquids are called scaly face and led treatment. the second on is called insecticidal bird mite and lice spray i used then about 4 days ago

Pics are a bit small to tell but it looks like scaly face. Can you get hold of some Ivamectin for birds from a vet? A little bottle here is under $10.00 and will do many birds. If you can get it, it's 1 drop behind head on each bird you have (if one has mite they all will if housed together) it will take a couple of weeks to notice a difference. If no improvement repeat dose. It will also help with other internal worm's, mite's etc. until you can get some keep using what you have, following directions, something is better than doing nothing It won't go away on it's own without treatment.
