July 16, 201212 yr As in for their birds? If so, I have a friend that live literally a two minute walk down the road, well, down the roads She's pretty good with animals, but she is kind of scared of birds. When I get more birds, I'm definitely getting a professional to do it All I need to do, is write down a list of what needs to be done, when to do them, where everything is, and then it's sweet
July 16, 201212 yr Hi all what do you do when you go away Hello I always took my birds with me. I built an aviary on a small trailer....B.J.
July 21, 201212 yr I have a professional pet sitter who comes twice a day. I do like Flip Trainer said, and leave her a sheet with a detailed list of what needs to be done. Since things change from one year to the next, she will come over a day ahead of time so I can show her where things are and what may be different this time. She also takes care of my cats and dogs and fish tanks. If the trip is short, say just a couple of days, I would leave them with a supply of food and water, and they will be okay on their own. (But not if there are any nesting at the time.) If I didn't have a noisy flock of birds, I would leave a radio on, so the quiet doesn't scare them. Edited July 21, 201212 yr by Finnie
July 25, 201212 yr It depends Dilster are you talking aviary birds or just a pet or two in a cage? With my aviary I have hanging feeders and water bottles. They will last at least a week with nobody having to enter aviary. My neighbour feeds our dog and checks on aviary to see no birds are hurt or caught etc. if so, she can enter aviary but I never go and leave nesting birds. Cage birds would be different, maybe you could leave them with someone or take them with you,
September 12, 201212 yr i would lable everything and make a list of things that need to be done list: water food does your bird(s) have any spicific needs? if so take your bird(s) along just incass your friend does not cover it but I never go and leave nesting birds. Cage birds would be different, maybe you could leave them with someone or take them with you, by robyn I tottaly agree Edited September 12, 201212 yr by Budgieperson
November 7, 201212 yr if you buy a sead stick and put it in the cage it will have lots of food and for water buy a pet water bowl
November 27, 201212 yr I was wondering this the other day. when I had just 2 budgies, I left them with lots of food and then had my dad come check them. that was while i spent a week in melbourne. Then when we got back we spent one night at home so I topped it everything up and then we had to leave again to go away some where else. I'm sure they missed me but they was fine. Now I have a aviary I think I will have to get some good seed and water feeders. them honey blocks from woolies are cheap 2.40 for a big one. putting in a bunch of spinach I'm sure they wouldn't eat that in week.
December 3, 201212 yr . putting in a bunch of spinach I'm sure they wouldn't eat that in week. But it would spoil, so I would only leave as much spinach as they could eat in a day so there will be nothing left to spoil.
