Posted June 27, 201213 yr I have three cockatiels in an aviary with 20 budgies. The cockatiels do not breed but one of my female budgies laid eggs and the (male) cockatiel started incubating the eggs with the budgie. The eggs ended up hatching and the cockatiel helped raise them by feeding them through their whole baby life(hatching-out of the box) . He incubated and fed the babies more then the budgie did and the budgie didn't mind. The cockatiel has helped that budgie several times but didn't go to any other babies. Is this strange for a budgie to allow this?
