Wanted: A Budgie Of Course!

Hello. My husband and I would like to get either a tame or young budgie. We're finding it hard to even locate someone to make enquires to. I'm in my 50s and Husband in his 60s. We're in north Queensland about an hour and a half from Townsville. Anywhere that we can drive to (including Cairns). Can someone tell me if there are any budgie sellers of either tame birds, or birds young enough to have a go at taming and hand rearing ourselves? We have no other pets. We tamed a peach face once, and she would go to sleep in my Husband's hand (he'd cup it like a tunnel) for hours. We did try again after she died, but the next peach face wasn't having a bar of us. And the cockitel, who has been gone for about a year now, also didn't really bond with us...she bonded with the other peach face lol.

My grandparents had a budge when we were young and it would talk and give his name and address. And cousins had a budgie that had the run of the lounge room.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello If you type in Budgerigar clubs Australia You will get a list that should help you

This also applies to most other countries if any one else has the same question. Just

type your country name after budgerigar clubs......Yours B.J.

BJ Budgie clubs are 99.999999% show budgie clubs and it would be rare to get a hand raised or tame baby budgie through a show budgie breeder. A generic bird club maybe.

Best bet is local newspapers and Gumtree ads as already suggested.

Hi Yes I know that but it was just another avenue to investigate. Breeders know breeders & there are always

someone with duff birds going cheap. Not every club member Has champion stock.. Plus the fact, getting to

know a local breeder may come handy for advice etc. Yours B.J..
