over the past coupel of weeks i have been collecting sticks and so i am going to build a play gym for my birds out of gum tree sticks and was wondering if any one else has done this before and have any photos and also was wondering how to stick all the sticks together. help would be great thx

Hello Funky. Your aviary budgies interacting with each other will be to busy to need a special gym building.

If you have a special bird as a house pet Then build what you want. The gym idea was to redirect the birds

energy to one specific place, rather than wrecking the house. Swings ,ladders branch to chew on etc

Aviary birds need play gym areas as much as any. tame house budgie. Your gumtree sticks will need to be thick enough to be assembled with screws. People ( myself and other show breeders ) have branches and wooden wine racks in aviaries for the amusement, entertainment and additional exercise the birds get from it. Just cos they are show budgies not pet budgies doesn't change the type of fun they like to have whether its aviary , inside cage or free flight.

Hi Got to agree that different sizes/shapes of perches are required in an aviary.

If you put together a dog type obstacle course. That would be a GYM worthy

of the name, you could then interact with your birds on a proper gym. Yours B.J.

I used to have a smallish one I made myself but when my budgie died a few weeks ago I chucked everything that belonged to him out as he was ill.
