Posted May 31, 201213 yr Hello,Im colourblind and having a difficult time telling what sex my budgies are,can I please get some opinions,Thankyou
May 31, 201213 yr Author Thankyou Jodie,I will take some better photos tomorrow of each bird individually it might be better to see... I dont want to wake them right now
May 31, 201213 yr Oh thats sweet of you, and yeah it's best not to wake them. Other members would more likely be a bit more sucessful than me. I am a little rusty as I have been out of breeding now for about 2 years. But good luck with them all, they are very sweet.
June 1, 201213 yr Author Im having problems getting clear shots but hopefully these will help, any help would be greatly appreciated
June 1, 201213 yr Hi Chilled D and C look like males to me and B female but E and A is hard to tell from the picture's.
June 1, 201213 yr Is there any possible chance you can get clear pictures without the flash as sometimes the flash washes or distorts cere colour. But I am certian that C is a male and B is female. D looks like a female in the picture but a picture without flash would be a great help. Cheers again. Jodie.
June 12, 201213 yr Author thankyou for the opinions/advise,I have taken so many pics butdont have macro on my camera, this is the best i can get of my tamest budgie, any ideas on the sex please?
June 13, 201213 yr That one looks to be male to me. The black that was covering their ceres and beaks were confusing me, I was thinking some were being made to look darker by the by the black covering their ceres. But this photo is very clear and this one looks to be a defonate male.
June 14, 201213 yr Author Thankyou very much Jodie,Finnie and A'shaar.. Im glad Budgielungs is a boy cause I been telling him how good a boy he has been!
June 18, 201213 yr Author okay, got another picture, any ideas if its a boy or girl ..also a long shot but is he/she a particular type of budgie or just a standard? Edited June 18, 201213 yr by chilled
June 20, 201213 yr The flash is lightening up his cere, but looking back at the first photo of chick E, he's a male spangle budgie, either mauve or grey. To tell between mauve and grey, look at the cheek patches. I can't see the color too well in the photos. If they are grey, he's grey, if they are a dark blue, he's mauve.
