Posted April 17, 201213 yr I got a pair of budgies from my sister from her work (RSPCA) they were owned by a eldery lady who is now deceased, anyway im thinking that they may be bro and sis , mainly because on their adoption cards they have listed there "birth" dates as the same date, also they are both recessive pied. They are very much bonded and im not sure if i should seperate them and breed with other mates, or just leave them be and hope that when they breed it will be okay.
April 17, 201213 yr NO. Best you dont allow them to breed together. If they are brother and sister they will double up on any faults, inherited issues and conditions. Dont have any nestboxes where they are.
April 17, 201213 yr Hi I agree with Kaz. Mix them with your other unmated birds The bond between them may not be so strong when given a chance to breed with other mates. Budgies don't pair for life. Or even for a season given the chance. Yours B.J.
