Posted April 10, 201213 yr Hi. I have a few questions about Aloe Vera as medication for sick birds. I have read thate some here use it on their birds but we couldnt really find out how. We think of using it as an internal treatment and we would like to know how to use it. Those of you that use the plant, is it organic? we have a hard time finding any organic plants here. Is there anyone that use Juice bought in the healt stores? what ratio do you use it in the water? is there any danger in overdosing it? we can only find 99,7% pure aloe vera juice here, is that okay? (it sais it has added minerals) do note, we HAVE been to the vet but we still want to try this alternative medications as the vet cant do anything becouse she dont have a clue what the base problem might be. We have had birds that have died in Leukemia (wich none of the avian vets we have talked to have seen in budgies) and we have a boy now that according to blood test shows some signs of potential future development of leukemia. it has gone so far with strange helth issues that we have abandoned our old home and moved as we belive that there might have been something bad in our old place.
April 10, 201213 yr I've seen a Aloe Vera Tonic posted recently... can't remember if it was here or on Facebook though... It used the aloe plant rather than the juice. here is a link to pretty much the same thing I saw posted. http://www.bssainc.org.au/aloe-vera-the-miracle-cure.html I haven't used it personally but I've heard great things about it helping build up defences against disease not sure it can cure it though...

They write very positive things about aloe vera for birds.. I didnt understand your first sentences due to language barrier. My gf wanted to hurry up getting aloe vera, as we havent been able to find an organic aloe vera plant today, she bought an aloe vera juice, that is said to be 100 % pure. Still unsure of the ratio, but we took about 20 % aloe vera and 80 % water. Waiting for how our budgies will feel now.
