how long to keep the birds safe?

We had a small indoor flood last week and our insurance is covering us to get our floors re-finished. How long would you all recommend I keep the birds out of the house for. There room in fact is one scheduled to be finished, in fact the whole house is. I was thinking 3 days to allow for fumes to get out, but maybe longer because I;m sure this is some toxicity that i will not be able to detect. Thank you,

Kristi

As long as possible until the smell has completely gone i would say. Do you have someone who can look after your budgies until it's all finished??

they and all the other animals (all 22) are going to stay at the veterinary office I work at. Thank god I have that place, I don't know what I would do otherwise. I"M GOING TO FILL THE PLACE UP :)!!

I'd leave them there for at least a week. The smell hangs around for a while, it's revolting. all 22 animals? :) What do you have?

2 rabbits, 7 cats (2 temporary) 1 quaker, 1 parrotlet, 2 budgies w/ their 2 babies, 2 cockatiels, 1 african spurred tortoise, 1 chinchilla, 2 crested gekos, 3 green tree frogs, 1 whites tree frog, and a 75 gallon salt water reef tank.

and yes we are awaiting the arrival of a partridge in a pear tree.

wow so many animals, love tree frogs! ahh, i just love all animals hehe

i'm a vet tech - it comes with the territory- people can be soo.......
