April 3, 201213 yr It would have been interesting to know what the chick that died would have looked like because it was going to have red eyes, so all 3 were different. Genetics confusing but very interesting Red eyes or plum eyes ? plum eyes at hatching and for a few days afterwards indicate cinnamon. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=23215 Edited April 3, 201213 yr by **KAZ**
April 3, 201213 yr They were definitely red. Yes they were......so add split for ino to the dads records and the chick was a hen too Edited April 3, 201213 yr by **KAZ**
April 4, 201213 yr . Her lack of markings could be due to being cinnamon and opaline So you think she DOES look opaline, Kaz? Then that cinnamon opaline chick isn't necessarily a girl.

Yes we were told what to look for once to determine this and it has to do with the striations on the markings on her head.
April 5, 201213 yr Author I love the cinnamon and mauve too, i was hoping for one and ended up with two of them. It's just a shame the the photos don't do them justice. My mum who doesn't have any pets has put her hand up for the little boy and already got herself a cage.
April 6, 201213 yr The hen is an opaline single factor dominant pied and I think she is also cinnamon. The cock must be split for opaline cinnamon and ino Edited April 6, 201213 yr by Neville

I think I can see on her photo what you mean by that, and I thought her head markings looked opaline, too. I just wasn't sure if that was enough to go on. And the newer photo of the two cinnamon chicks on the perch looks like they are both boys, so that would confirm that the mom is opaline. Edited April 7, 201213 yr by Finnie
April 14, 201213 yr Author Just a quick question, how do you get them to stop biting or will they grow out of it?
