Enlarged Solid Crop

Featured Replies

In the last week I have noticed that several of my budgies have a large, fairly hard, protruding crop that makes it look like they are top heavy. In 9 years of breeding budgies I have never come across this before. None of these birds are laying/in nest boxes. Is it some kind of crop infection/worms/yeast? What should I do?

Thanks heaps.

Thanks GB - don't want to sound daft here but what exactly is canker? The birds don't look sick, just like they have extraordinarily full crops and they feel kind of sandy from the outside. I don't think it is air sac mite from what I've read about the symptoms.
