Posted January 27, 201213 yr Hey all, thought I would share some good news with you all. I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant with my first child. I had a second scan yesterday that showed all was well and the little he or she even gave us a wave.
January 27, 201213 yr That's great, Nerwen! Congratulations. What amazing detail that ultrasound shows of his/her facial features!

January 28, 201213 yr Congratulations Nerwen This is the first ultrasound I've ever seen I take it that the Baby looks like it's lying down with the head to the left and the tiny widdle feet at the right
January 28, 201213 yr Author maesie - when i get a bump to show off I will see about posting one. Flip - yeah that is about right, i think the bit to the right is part of the cord..might be wrong, but bub didn't want to show off the feet when the scan lady wanted to see them.
July 11, 201212 yr Author hi guys, I've not been around much of late. I do jump in and have a look around a bit but haven't really posted that much. update - I'm now 36 weeks and was told at 20 week that it was 90% chance bubs is a girl. I hope so now as I've been given a TON of pink things lol. Everything with the pregnancy has been running smoothly, just the last few weeks I've ended up with flu and cough which had me out of it for a week and then my nose would not stop running the following week. And this week I've had a sinus infection or tooth infection. All I could take was panadol to help with the pain and fevers and antibiotics for the infection this week, which i think after 5 days of horrid pain have started to work (3 days of meds). Fingers crossed after this I don't catch anything else and i can focus on sorting out everything for bubs arrival. I had a heap of clothes to wash and a room to sort out, all of which I'll do while on maternity leave. I might be thinking crazy (i'm sure a parent can let me know) but while at home with bubs I was thinking of breeding some birds - I think there would be time for daily check ups and feedings. Or am I too hopeful that caring for bubs will be as smooth sailing as the pregnancy??
July 11, 201212 yr My Mum was reading this and said Congratulations She also said that "you don't get much time do do anything but the Baby until the baby is "weaned" onto solid foods..." I'm not too sure when babies "wean" but I'm presuming about 6 months? until then it'll just be too hard, and I think that it'd be much easier once she's about 2 years old? I think you should just focus on the baby for until you are comfortable that you have enough time to deal with the birds
July 21, 201212 yr A teenage boy giving new mother advice? Really? Nerwen, I wouldn't put the birds down to breed before the baby is born, because you can't really guarantee the birds' timing. And you won't really know what you are capable of handling until the baby is a couple of weeks old. Babies go through a growth spurt at 2 weeks and 6 weeks, and at those times, even if you thought you had the swing of things, you will be swamped. Depending on how long your maternity leave is, you might find this is a good time for breeding, IF you find that your routine with the baby goes smoothly. After all, at this stage, the baby sleeps a LOT, and they don't crawl, so it is a lot easier to get anything done. But no matter what age your kids are, it's important to carve out at least a little time for yourself. I'd say pre-weaning, it is a lot simpler process to feed a baby than once you have to prepare their food and clean up the mess they make. (Unless you are bottle feeding, but even that is a little easier.) (By the way, I had 5.)
