Mauve Or Grey

I just can't figure it out, well I am 80% sure that baby 2 is Mauve but baby 1 still confuses me He/she comes out look more grey in pictures than he/she truly is

I've had a ton of Grey budgies, and I've had a ton of Grey spangles So I usually can tell when one is Grey but this is my 1st time having Mauve's

I know Grey's have Grey cheek patches -Normally and Normally Mauve's have blue(which both of these have blue - But I've read recently on some other sites that Grey's Can have blue cheek patches(so that doesn't help with the confusion any

in person Since the pictures don't really have them appear like they do in person. Both are a Bluish-grey color with baby 1 The Spangle being a little bit Lighter than baby 2 who isn't spangle or any other mutation. However baby 2 does have a coal black tail the long tail feathers and the smaller side feathers are Coal black. and I've noticed as he/she is growing up his wings markings are extremely dark too (Which I am assuming is a good thing :) ) and of course the Spangle has a white tail like it should be for being a Spangle

but here are a few pictures even if they don't do them justice, just wanting some other opinions but I am pretty sure both are mauve's but it never hurts to get a few other opinions :)

here are the links to their pictures on my Photo bucket

Baby 2

Baby 2

Baby 1- not the best picture but this one just refuses to stand still for anything - The flash was on so it's a lot brighter than it really is

Baby 1

I will try to get better pictures today - of course all of them will still be with house lights and flash as it's snowing here and not much "natural light" to use :(

The parents are

Violet Cobalt Spangle - Male

Apollo

The mom is a Grey Cinnamon Opaline I didn't know what Dark factor she had before I bred her but If these babies are mauve or at least if 1 is then I'll know :)

Calleigh

If you need more pics just let me know and I'll try my best to get some better shots

Visually, they both look mauve to me. I also used this color guide and they seem to fit the mauve color.

Thank You :)

I thought so and I'm starting to think at least baby 2 may of gotten the violet factor their dad has He(or she) has a sheen of violet over his entire front, it doesn't come out in the pictures very well, but When we look at them in person you can see it, It almost glistens like snow does in the sun light (makes it look like some one poured Glitter on the ground) if that makes any sense at all lol I know it is harder to tell on Mauve's if they have the Violet Factor(or at least that is what every article about the two I've read has said. But Both of these babies have the option to have to it since their dad has it.

and now I know what Dark Factor their mom has since she is Grey and I didn't breed her so I had no clue - but now I know :) of Course i'm still going to call her Grey because even w/out the dark factor she has a mutation that is a mouth full in a half .. Grey Cinnamon Opaline.. But If i add in the Cobalt Grey Cinnamon Opaline that's even more of a mouth full . But I will add it to her list on my site that she is in fact cobalt That way If I forget I'll have it there to remind me :D

Thank You Again.

They are both grey, grey have a light bluey grey cheek patches, they can be a darker shade of grey and mauve has violet colour cheek patches.P.lus a mauve has a very dark blue tail feather with a black sheen. and grey has a black tail feather. in normals variety that is.
