TWISTED we have a new mob who have taken over the PETS DOMAIN stores in Nth Tassie renamed them PET BARN i beleive they will not source birds local if they do only pay $3/4 for greens and $6 for coloured and the charge $28 to $35............ i have heared they are bringing birds from interstate S.A that is........................ today.TUCKERBOX in LONNIE has no budgies pet or show and will not buy greens (as if i have any greens that is) go figure ...........TAZ D

No idea how much they buy them for but budgies any colour are $30 at the petshop and mainly $20 from the breeders

Hi, this was an old post but things seem to be about the same. Still only get $10.00 for birds, $5.00 for greens. Pet shop sell them for $30.00.

Don't know what they have against green, if we don't breed the greens we don't get the splits, pied's, yellows etc. some of the pure greens are fantastic looking birds. I guess it's all down to what sells and what doesn't.

I have heard people say many myths about green budgies.

 

That the color will dominate your aviary eventually.

 

Hey maybe its because green is the wild colour of budgies, so its probably to cover them getting caught up by a parks and wild life law, just in case green bird is a wild type, that would make sense..

 

My step son likes the green budgies, his taking a green normal this weekend.
