Try gumtree. There are some good breeders (that's what they claim to be) selling hand raised ones for about $40 - 50. Just make sure u know the difference between hand tame and hand raise. Huge difference i think. How to tell male from female. Females bite alot even if they seem absolutely tame at first. Males will bit only if you annoy them but their bites are gentler. If u want an absolute pet keep only 1 ie if you want to train it to talk and just be your baby. If you have both they'll prefer each others company then yours. And when u remove 1 from another they'll always call out. Make sure the it has been weaned onto fruits and veges and isn't only eating seeds. I can officially declare that budgies are the best pets to keep. If only then lived longer.
