This will be the only show for 2011 due to low entries but we will start again Feb/March 2012.

okay

well to start with

thanks everyone that bothered to take the time to enter

splats trying to bring some fun back to this place so people want to either par take or just enjoy the shananagons here on the sight and hopfully from that learn a bit of important information on the way

as well hopefully stick around

 

i was given the task to judge the pet birds

as i really miss my little fellas i was quiet happy to do this for bit of fun

 

now im judging these birds as if i was to be buying them for myself

so as i love all birds it was really hard so i went by a few rulz

 

one was i was going to pick the bird that to me was in best proportion as i truly believe a bird with an unbalanced head im talking pet or show is an ugly thing to look at ....but thats me

 

two i decided to go for best marked and consistency of color as i really believe to produce a good bird you must start with well marked bird

now i know you dont all breed and some these birds are just single pets but all in all a well marked wing with crisp out line and no patchiness always takes my eye well before a bird with out this but depending its variety of course

 

thirdly i looked at age and i decided that it only be fair to judge birds that should be out nest so sorry to those of you whom took pics of very young cuties doesn't win shows

 

so in saying all that

it was still bit hard and i decided that all in all the 3 birds i would take home would be the three to place

and reason why

i will be pretending to have the smarts of a real judge hee hee however i truly dont have a clue but for fun will try toff it up a bit

 

 

PLACE ONE

 

GOES TO ENTRY TWO

THIS BIRD TO ME STOOD OUT THE MOST IT SAID LOOK AT ME LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL I AM

WITH ITS NICE STRAIGHT POSTURE AND TILT OF HEAD DIRECT EYE CONTACT

THIS PICTURE WAS ID SAY THE BEST SO ADDED TO MY RETURNING TO IT OVER AND OVER

I DO THINK ITS HEAD LOOKS A TAD SMALLER THAN I WOULD LIKE BUT IN SAYING THAT I BELIEVE COULD BE ANGLE OF CAMERA

AND BEING A BABY AFTER THE MOLT IT WILL BALANCE PERFECTLY WITH ITS BODY

ITS WINGS ARE CARRIED HIGH IN LINE WITH ITS TAIL NOT ONLY CAN I SEE THE BIRDS FULL LENGTH TO JUDGE IT

BUT IT ALSO HAS GOOD CRISP DEEP COLOR IN WING PATTEN

FOR ME IT WAS THE BIRD OF CHOICE

congrats whomever owns this bird you chose a lovely pet

okay this bird let its self down due to being clipped

as not only did it give the bird a struggle to balance i couldn't see how inline its wings were or how they were sitting

i do believe though if it had wings it would be sitting in a nice straight line wings carried to its body

the color over all is to me nice and even through out the bird with a lovely yf highlighting its head

although a bit smudgy its wing patterning was again nice deep color for its variety with out missing patches

id quiet happily of taken this happy healthy little fella home

congrats to the owner

 

PLACE THREE

 

okay this was the hardest to place as i have issues with birds not actually being in a full viewing position

it was a toss up with the yf pied entry 5 and the entry 14 a clear-body

but overall i gave it to

entry 14

the reasoning behind my final choice was based on that if i could view the whole bird i think her

stance and back-line would of had me looking

both these birds are young and both seem to hold their wings a slight bit relaxed

both have lovely rounded head following down behind their heads the pied seems to have a shrug to it but i know this is due to being very young and overall is a beautiful bird id take home with out questioning this

the clear-body on other hand seems to be outside in a warm day holding her wings just slightly from her body and flattening her feathers in to keep a warm breeze out

she has a bit of extension in her stance from sitting tall so this was my only reason for placing her before the pied

all in all they were very had to separate both of the owners need to be congratulated on a lovely bird

ill write a small something on all birds latter tonight but as i cant put the pics above each one as im stupid like that i will get splats help with that

all birds were lovely

their was a grey greeen spangle in someones hand but i felt it was a border on a exibition budgies feather quality and a in nest chick

and a very cute birdy with a tedy again to young

 

a pied yf on wire its pattening very faint but was also starting a moult but a nice bird

i will go into detail latter when i can get pics above my words
