Posted November 11, 201113 yr Well I can join a club 3 hours away! So as some know I wish to show my birds but I don't know how to how to acquire my rings to enter a show but I want to know can I purchase rings custom online and still be able to show my birds without joining a club?
November 11, 201113 yr Well I would suggest you go along to the next meeting and pay the joining fee and on the day order some rings for yourself. There are set dates when rings are available so maybe you can get some Club rings in the meantime. Or else you can just ring or email the Club Secretary and let them advise you.

No you can't show unless you are member of a club in your state plus a member of Your state like Budgerigar society of Queensland. You can join that club that is 3 hours away just to get your rings and just be a member, but if you want to show sounds like the shows will be a distance from you also.

November 11, 201113 yr We have several members in one of our budgie clubs that travel about 400 kms every meeting to be there....some travel even further.....another 100kms to go to our other club meetings ( 500 kms each way ) so I guess it gets down to how important it is to you. Sometimes you can tee up to share travel.

November 11, 201113 yr But like I said you can still be an active member without attending the meetings. Most clubs send out newsletters so you know what is going on and maybe your parents will take you to a show when you start breeding good birds, but we have some members in our club are members and they just do their own thing, come to meeting when able and breed to suit themselves and will show one day. But at least when you are a member you will get some kind of magazine a few times a year from the Queensland Budgerigar Society or at least we do here and that helps you find out what is going on in your state. And if you are a junior there are junior fees so it is cheaper. But the rings still all cost the same though.
November 11, 201113 yr As an incentive to juniors we ( over here in W.A.) give free membership to juniors. Edited November 11, 201113 yr by **KAZ**

April 8, 201213 yr You don't have to show if you join, after seeing a few aviaries you might change your mind about only having 2 though Budgies are addictive!
