Posted November 6, 201113 yr Hello Everybody We are new to all this, until yesterday we didn't know anything about birds. And some friends bought us two budgies as a gift. We are trying our best to keep our budgies happy, although until a bit before they just sat silent. Probably because of the new environment. ...And then the fighting began. One of the budgie is very hard for us understand if it's a male or a female...from some points of view the beak seams colorless, but other aspects it is a light purple color. Is it a problem if we have 2 male budgies in one cage. Of corse we don't know the age either, so we'd appreciate any help... thanks in advance
November 6, 201113 yr Looks like a female to me...Not too old..Male looks older..Could be the reason they are fighting a bit, he might want to mate and she is not ready. They should settle down soon...
November 7, 201113 yr You have one of each sex In the first picture: male on the left, female on the right
November 7, 201113 yr Birds usually have disagreements for a reason. IF that is the cage they are, judging from the pics, they are probably fighting over space. That cage is far too small for one budgie, let alone two.
