Posted October 19, 201113 yr Hi all, I purchased a bird back in June. Ever since I got him he has been making a wheezing noise when he breathes, its louder when he gets stressed a bit. ( as when I enter aviary). I treated him with avamectin in quarantine, when I got him. He seems perfectly healthy apart from this noise with his breathing. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? In a human I'd say nervous asthma l.o.l. but don't know the birdy equivalent. if any.

October 20, 201113 yr Author Thanks Kaz., I have had the aquarius iodine in the aviary water,( 7 drops a litre) for all birds since I have had him. He hasn't become worse since I bought him but no better either. He's very active eats like a horse, but he's a big bird. If it was thyroid prob. would there be any other symptoms to look for?
