I am no good at this but the first one looks grey wing which I don't breed so I am not sure but is also looks spangle maybe opaline.

The second looks grey wing too but not as much the wings look more white so maybe spangle but then it doesn't really look that much like spangle marking. the second one looks yellow face too.

LOL how wrong am I

Okay, I'll have a try. I'm with Splat on the first one, light green opaline spangle greywing, cock, it looks like.

The second one I think is yf2 (or goldenface, whatever) mauve (maybe grey, but by cheek patch I'm going with mauve. Can't look back at the photo right now, though.) Also a greywing spangle, but without the opaline for this one. And hen.

I suppose they are pale enough to be dilutes, not regular greywings.

That last tail photo is the first chick again, isn't it?

okay, after double checking the cheek patch, I think it could be grey after all. :P

The first bird looks like an opaline cinnamon spangle which is also a longflight

The second bird looks like a violet factored spangle not sure of the exact

colour.

The first bird looks like an opaline greywing light green

The second looks like a spangle grey green

I wondered about cinnamon in both birds but they don't appear to have pink feet

OMG!!! It's so obvious to me now!!! THEY'RE BUDGIES!!! AND THE DIFFERENCE IS IS THAT ONE OF THEM IS FAT AND ONE IS SKINNY :D

okay my guess

i just seen this looks like could be fun

mmm

first bird a hen

opaline cinnimon clearwing

obviously green im thinking dark green but never can tell a normal dark green from light so .....

reason i say this is

one the patches are pale blue so its a clearwing for-sure also its opaline so and being cinnamon its grizzled

my guess i could be wrong as i know nothing about clearwings grey wings or dilutes

second one

a yf opaline violet mauve spangle again im going clearwing not sure this ones cinnamon but very well could be

also

they could be full bodyed greywings which is deceving me but if they are they that are cinnamon

so ............. i look forward to being wrong lol :P but i gave it a shot no looking anything up just from what you gave us so if im right or wrong i know i didnt even try to go find out its more fun that way :)

so come on kaz what are they

so ............. i look forward to being wrong lol :P but i gave it a shot no looking anything up just from what you gave us so if im right or wrong i know i didnt even try to go find out its more fun that way :)

I like your approach, GB! :D

And PJI, what a smart idea to quote the photos so you can look back at them! Why didn't I think of that?!

Forgive me for the naming, but is the baby 2 a Yellow Opaline Spangle??? (I have no idea how to name mutations :/)

Well, ages ago when I was trying to breed greywings and found it hard to find a greywing hen, I was told to use a dilute with a greywing cock as I would get greywings that way. The hen I used was a spangle dilute and possibly opaline. What I got from breeding them together was greywing chicks and greywing spangles.

The topic http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=26390&view=findpost&p=352045&hl=greywings&fromsearch=1 showing grandparents .....

BUT these chicks are the result of breeding one of those greywing spangle cocks with a greywing hen, so what you see here is an opaline greywing spangle and a greywing spangle. Opaline has popped up as it seems the spangle greywing cock is split for opaline.

No Yellowface involved and no mauves.....and I dont breed clearwings.

Interestingly the quill of the spangle tail on these two is grey like you would expect with a greywing and not clear or neutral like you would expect with a spangle.

Anyone get close ?? :D

I was on the right track lol, about the only thing I said wrong was the yellow face but that could be my screen too. lol Got a blame something.

I think I did fairly well considering I don't breed greywings at all. lol

I actually thought I would embarrass myself so bad. lol But I shined lol. ha ha

Just trying to cheer myself up.
