Another shot of my boy, have tried resizing this so many times Kaz and I can't get it to work?

 

 

Photo size is great mate...................so is the bird !!!

 

Sometimes the photos dont seem the right size until we refresh our browser.

 

 

 

 

The cobalt is SPLIT FALLOW woohoo!!  Have another couple more good ones in the nest as well  The lut has nice size and feather but down on colour, have another 3 really similar from the same nest.  Both about 30 days old.

Honestly it's been that long since I have bred one I can't remember. I think it will stay roughly the same. The reason is that it is from a Lut-Alb pairing, so it is split blue. I could breed it to a well coloured lut or split lut or use it to breed albs, all is not lost. It will be a really handy hen.

Very nice babies Dan, I did the same, put a lutino cock with an albino hen and got a lutino hen and she is quite nice too but my plan was to pair like that so I can put the lutino hen with my clear body next year and they will be both split blue.

i had a really nice lute cock pop out how im baffeled it was a foster and dont know who from was great big cock not that big that he didnt excape the door opened

Yeah got my fingers crossed with her Julie, she could be a real cracker. Having a good run at the moment, have a few in the nest feathering up very nicely. Just waiting for something to go terribly wrong......

The latest offerings are starting to show some directional feather. Two of the birds have a GB parent. Thanks GB! Her birds certainly carry the right sort of feather.

I lost one nice grey green but I have it's sibling who is just as good. Things are going okay GB. Not breeding heaps but breeding keepers at the moment. Starting to slow down and slowly emptying the breeding cages.

 

Looks like I am a cinnamon breeder again which is interesting since that was my most succesful variety last time around.

 

That grey green above which is a dom pied was from the Henry George cinnamon and that dom pied hen that I got from your friend. He is a big strong boy, you can't tell too much from that photo but he will be a nice bird. You know where the other 2 have come from.

She's nice Julie, has lovely soft feather and good direction. At this stage she is on the smaller side. She is from a Fox stud hen. Maybe you should see her about a yellowface. The other two are big strong birds with the grey green pied being a big solid cock bird. I will get some better photos of him.

 

The cinnamon grey green is really showy with classy lines and lovely feather. Am really rapt with her. She is a hen I can really build my stud on. Bred from a Fox stud cock bird and a bird with a crook hip given to me by Graham Tevelein.

im glad to hear the same goes on at my stud

i dont mind though less to run around after less to decide what to cull out and better results in birds quality

well you are welcome to any my cinnamon hens and cocks or split cin cocks i don't want

have few hens here now im happy to part with before they reach 6 months

as for splat chances for her getting a yf from me are very high but not till next year now birds are on brake till march /april

I love it when you get a hen like that that has got a bit about her and doesn't have a heap of feather. I reckon those are the birds that you can really work with because you know that it they look good without feather they will look great when you add a bit of feather to thier offspring. They are the sort of birds I try to buy.

 

The dom pied is a big strong boy with length and shoulder. He has really good permanent directional feather, he also has heaps of backskull. It's funny how birds with backskull can lose thier impact a bit as it gives the impression that they are pinched at the front where really they are just extra wide through the skull. It's all about getting the proportions right I suppose.

 

Edit: The pied is out of Henry George's Bob Smith line. He definitely has a bit of a Bob Smith look about him.
