October 13, 201113 yr The bird's face is out of proprtion to it's body in the first photo, the second photo is much better. I agree with Taz the face is made so much bigger by the depth of mask. It does look like a fairly fit bird and it's body feather's sit tight. I would love to own it. This bird surpasses the standard in regards to depth of mask, does that mean it would get penalised?

October 13, 201113 yr Thanks Gb he is stunning, just love him, those other pics are much better this isnt the prettiest of the ones ive seen but hes length and mask are great very thin in head compared to most them im guessing its the feather extensions hee hee lets face it if no one likes this type of bird then even if the people with dollors bring the look in then only they will breed it someone made us sound like sheep (cant remember who ) but i for one know i will be breeding the look i want to the standard i want sure ill probably not win top awards but in saying that to me the award will be sitting in my shed enjoying birds i breed with my own prefer;ed look of course if everyone trys to follow believing its the only way to win than everyone will most likely have to have the same quality in standard but if everyone stays true to what look they believe they love and not breed just to impress others then not only will the hobby stay alive but it will stay enjoyable what i like is all different types of birds win at different levels regardless of the so call wanted look this keeps it real for everyone i feel if by chance these birds get transformed into something that represents a fragile(u know them fluffy things from fragile rock the kids show ?) then i believe the whole showing breeding thing will deteriorate due to exess costs to have the required needs these longer feathered birds would require and keeping them alive will be too hard to manage for the average jo blow and his shed/breeding room my opinion when you look at all the things the English breeders use you truly do need money to get these things
October 13, 201113 yr I quite like him. His head looks small in this picture put in the others he looks even more magnificent! I wonder how much$$$?
October 13, 201113 yr Im with dave too. Thats too exaggerated imo. Having said that its interesting and the work involved would be huuuuuuge Almost looks like he has a tribal warriors mask on. Edited October 13, 201113 yr by **KAZ** removed double post

October 14, 201113 yr An amazing looking budgie bred by Les Martin from the UK. Won best in show 2010 B.S. Club show. Les Martin won it again this year with a blue. He has shoulder and how can you tell he doesn't have back scull Renee when you can't see that area anyway. I think he is magnificent. I would be proud to breed a bird like that but then at the same time the directional feather is almost going to far. This is why you have such good quality birds splat, because you can appreciate the quality of this bird and obviously apply that talent to your own stock.I cannot believe all the negatives regarding this bird, the bird won a major award in the UK & that is not easy to do.Give me an aviary full of them any day, well done Les Martin keep them coming hopefully one day imports into Australia will start up again and i can contact you for some relatives of this ripper example of an exhibition budgerigar.
October 14, 201113 yr From what I hear, this style of bird is already being bred in Victoria ? PS I am not saying I dont like this bird. Quite frankly ANY BIRD that had this kind of feather and was by some miracle in my aviary..........I would be stoked Edited October 14, 201113 yr by **KAZ**
