It's a lovely spot for an aviary but won't the mice run up the plants onto your roof, only saying that because that is what is happening here and I was told by several people last week that the mice are on there way back in droves. I guess they mean they are breeding up and are going to hit us hard again.

im not worried about that splat

im the queen of mouse proofing :P:)

also i finally getting some help by looks wont be for a week but ive waited this long so

(gb does happy dance and a big yearrrrrrrrrrrrr haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar tosses her hat high into the sky )

and best thing is its from a dear friend that i meet through the birds who has helped me few other occasions

hes going to drive down here (he doesnt live close by ) and assess the situation

ive got my brother buying me 5 meters of mice wire for the aviary im putting under the tree and im going to start joining it in panels to the outside of the existing wire

takes a bit but its kind of like basket weaving in the end  so may just be good for me to sit in sun and do peacefully

That's great , glad you have some help, is it the guy that is helping you with your birds or someone else.

its not splat its someone else

he also helps me with my birds but not as in culling and information

helps me get certain seed im not happy with up this way

eg hulled Oates and helps me get stuff i cant get from his end the woods , so on its cheaper down town as we get the extra shipping price stuck on each bag we buy

well to day i had a surprise visitor and well lucky and unluckily

it poured down rain

we were able to assess the flooring issue and find the source of it

turns out my back porth area is running off the water that gets their from the rain and its running off onto the area next to my flight/shed

also the shed has a c cup i think he called it edge which doesnt allow the flow to just flow off my shed it brings it back then over it

looks as if i need to install guttering and a extra roof to go over the one i have to allow the flow to pass off the end of the shed and away from its self

if that makes sense he dug a quick trench for me soon as he saw all the water

but we couldn't do it well enough as we didnt have anything to be-able to get through the stones the grounds like a rock in the car port and its were we have to put it to run off also my other flight i need put up is right in the way so made it hard

i got some pics of the water build up to show you and his make shift drain just to show me what i need done if i had had the right tools and he had the time it would of been done now

so im going to get a pick and have a go at it myself

just happened the rain started 15 minits before he was leaving

so at least now i know bit what im doing

That is what Dan way saying, glad you worked it out.

The fact that you are making an attempt, dodgy or not, means that people should never laugh at your attempt. I know how difficult it can be at time to get things done on your own... and I am generally healthy....generally. I am proud of you for putting your hand up and saying you need help. Well done. Sometimes our pride gets in the way of asking for help, and like the saying says, "pride goeth before a fall". Well done GB.

LOL most of my jobs I do are dodgy even the jobs Greg does for me are dodgy. lol but as long as it works who cares.

Glad you are getting where GB, go for it dodgy or not.

What a sweetie :D

Here is teh photos of the aluminum angle stuff I was talking about GB. It is very thin and easy to work with. I use an angle grinder to cut.

I flatten this piece first.

I use to it to patch up any where that there is a hole to stop mice getting in.

the dodge is on me :)

It looks like it should work a treat Gb but you will have to get someone to fix the steel to the shed one day before heavy winds come. LOL that is something i would do too. lol

Yeah sorry GB, that iron will end up next door very soon. I have even had sheets under timbers on the ground go flying around like a magic carpet. Can be dangerous too. Better off using a 2 dollar tarp and some rope tied down to something.

I agree with Fordmob. Those sheets will take off in a moderate wind...........we have had sheets fly off with heavier things on top than a couple of bricks. Hopefully you dont have to experience this before it get fixed more securely.

well

im not completely that stupid i do realize it isn't the safes method but giving my situation

im not to bothered

besides they are not just bricks they are very very heavy and im positive the wind will not

blow these suckers off im afraid im just going to take that chance of them blowing off if i have to besides not a house for a block near me and im not stupid enough to go out in the wind storms im not the only hill billy in my town :P:blush: and god knows what may fly your way out their

im not planing to put the metal ones on the actual finished product im going to get the clear stuff

this is just what i had laying around but besides the dangerous- ness of it

DO YOU THINK THIS WOULD WORK

thats the question id have a gutter on the end of it leading to a water tank so it does run off into something rather than the ground

ill do it both sides also it wont go past the pop out these sheets are quiet large

i could not get a tarp up mate ive got one here ive had for 2 years and it needs poles put in and set also need to be done properly a tarp would not let the water run off like these either id have the same issue with water getting as i did before

i do realize this needs attaching

but its also locked under the top rung and their is no where but the front that the wind can lift it from

it it flys off its only going to end up in my yard wind goes away from house here
