Birdie Girl

I lost my little Birdie Girl on Monday and I am so sad. This site helped me when I got her because she was a parent raised Budgie and took a lot of time and patients. I recently taught her to come out of her cage on her own as she did not really like being touched. She was so sweet she gave kisses, played ball did wolf whistle and use to sit and chatter for hours. Not sure what she was talking about, but she seemed to know. Sunday I played with serveral time out of the cage. She loved to run around on the carpet like a little child she seemed fine that day. Monday morning when I got up she was staggering around on the bottom of her cage. I knew she was really sick. I immediately put her in a small cage with towels to keep her warm. The odd thing was when I put food in there she gobbled it like she was starving which I thought was a good sign, but then she flopped over and was barely breathing. I tried giving her pedialite hoping I could keep her alive until I could get her help. She died before I could do that. I miss her terrribly, but was wondering if anyone could give input on what they think might of happened. I realize it won't bring her back, but if it is a mistake I made I don't want it to happen again. My husband and I buried her in a very special place in our yard.
