September 10, 201113 yr Author The grey and white hen is a dominant pied she is half half, i,ll get another photo soon, I,m proud of the violet as it is my first purchased in this colour This pair have the 2 chicks This is my english budgie and 1/3 english budgie pair, she is due to have eggs any day The eldest looks like his dad These 2 have 1 chick I think this lacewing may have fractured a wing, when the breeder netted him he couldn't fly after that Skyblue english hen in her nest, she is from a strong show bloodline apparently
September 10, 201113 yr I love them all, but I especially love the chicks and lacewing. Are you going to an avian vet to get his wing checked out? Avian vets are of course way better and have more knowledge than normal 'every pet' vets... But sooooo extremely cute all of them, especially the lacewing
September 10, 201113 yr Looks like some nice birds there. I see your following Kaz tip of seed in nest box, I really think it helps chicks.

Yes i think it is a great tip i have been using it for the last 5 months.I especially like my birds.
September 11, 201113 yr Is that budgie seed you got at the bottom of you baby budgie box? You shouldn't put seeds like that for them at that age, a little bit of millet spray is okay. I some what feel sorry for the breeding conditions of your budgies.

Mate, i,ve talked to four breeders and it's fine.My birds are healthy and i am a novice breeder not a show breeder so don't critisize the way i do things.I am 13 i might not have thousands of dollars to go out and buy a brand new aviary or national champion bird but i still love them and they are looked after so don't comment here again please.

You put your photos and topic up here expect criticism. You dont have the right to tell people not to criticize or to tell them not to comment in your topic. If you have attitudes like that eventually people dont reply in your topics or offer assistance. Edited September 11, 201113 yr by **KAZ**

Sorry kaz but i,m not with you on that one if people want to criticize i think i have the right to say something(No offence meant it's just my view).I know the jam packet boxes isn't the best but i have 22 nests to 18 birds.I am getting a few cabinets in the next few week anyway.I have 2 pairs in breeding cages so i actually only have 12 birds in the aviary.

September 11, 201113 yr corzstunt, you do have some lovely birds and it is obvious that you look after them but i agree i know you already have a couple of breeding cabinets but i think you need enough so every pair can have one. also are the nest boxes always in there or do you remove them. because if they are always in there it could be influencing the birds to breed when they may not be ready. i also know that it is hard to take critisism because i got the same thing when i first joined her lsat year, but their advice and critisism ahs made my birds so much healthier and friendlier its amazing, lets hope you have continous good breeding seasons and welcome to the site. September 11, 201113 yr Author I dont let birds that are under 12 months breed and i remove my boxes in mid summer i will only allow my birds to have a maximum of 3 clutches. Thanks for your help aswell pride.
September 11, 201113 yr Its good that you do remove them out at summer, but i still think you need cabinets, i know its hard being a teenager and trying to get all this stuff because we simply do not have the money. but i suggest just getting enough gradualy over time. September 11, 201113 yr When you are first starting out and need cabinets for breeding and dont have much money.......here's some tips Check bulk rubbish throwout days or the recycle at the tip or ask relatives and friends for old pantry cupboards.......these can easily have mesh fronts made and each shelf section made into a breeding cabinet. old wardrobes can be converted. so can shelving units, bookcases ( if deep enough ) ..... I once made a breeding cabinet out of an old laundry sink cupboard. All you need is to think outside the box about how something can be converted into a breeding cabinet, have a few tools and some aviary mesh.
September 12, 201113 yr They are some good tips! I always thought it was best to use the wooden made ones, but using a pantry cupboard is a great idea!
September 12, 201113 yr Author Thanks kaz that is a great idea and i know someone who may have a few to spare.
September 12, 201113 yr I have got some pantry cupboards... Huh mm I'll check with mum, Shame we actually use them!!! LOL
