Posted August 27, 201113 yr I need to get another phone and l have been doing some research on both of these types of phones. I would like to use it for internet, bluetooth and of course to phone. If you own one(don't need to own one to answer the poll ) can you please tell me why you prefer it? Edited August 27, 201113 yr by birdluv
August 27, 201113 yr My other half has an iphone. I get to use it every now and again, so I'm not an expert. But. What I like about it is that it's really easy to use - typical apple style. You don't have to be a geek to work it. Also, since I use a Mac laptop, it just syncs in really easily. If you want to pull photos or video off it, I just plug it into my laptop and up they come. My crappy Nokia requires cables and downloaded software and a whole pile of trouble - and even then it doesn't always work. Same thing if you store music on it and want to move it to your computer and vice versa. It doesn't support flash, which is a program used on some websites for the moving pictures. However, since flash is one of the programs which slows down your computer (and phone) and makes your system and other programs crash, I'm quite happy that it's not on there. That's why apple doesn't support it. They are more expensive than other phone options, however. For me though, I don't want to be fiddling under the bonnet or either my computer or phone with complicated interfaces - or viruses, so it works for me. I've used apple products for many many years (since the late 80s), long before they became big consumer products, and I have never had a virus in all that time. I don't know, but can Windows based phones get viruses? Essentially, these new phones are just super mini computers. There's supposed to be a new model coming out very soon, by the way. You might want to wait. I heard September or October, but don't quote me on it. You can either get the new whiz bang one, or the older model will come down in price.
August 27, 201113 yr Have an iphone 4 here. They are easy to use and best if jailbroken! Best of the smartphones out at the moment imo.
August 27, 201113 yr Author Thanks for the feedback, l really do appreciate it. l think l'm leaning towards a smartphone. I have an ipod touch so l have alot of the same feature as an iphone has except for the phone I still have not decided yet.
August 29, 201113 yr The android os looks promising. They may end up beatingthe iphones i would avoid htc's we have them at work and they suck. The palm treo were pretty avg too.
September 1, 201113 yr Author well, l went and upgraded my old cell phone with an android(smart phone). So far l'm really loving it. It is the Motorola milestone it looks like this one but only l put a dark pink cover on it One of the things l like about this phone are the good pictures it can take. Here is one the first pictures that l took with it. Sweetpea It is very easy and l'm very happy with my decision Thanks again to everybody's opinion.
September 1, 201113 yr I have an iPhone 4 and I love it. I would be lost without it. It is a 3GS. I know there were some antenna issues with the iphone 4 but I am anxiously awaiting iPhone 5 when I will upgrade.
September 2, 201113 yr I have a smart phone and glad I don't have a iPhone. A good 90% of people I know with iPhones have said how s**t they were. Easily cracked screens, freezes up. Smart phones on the other hand, mine has never frozen, no scratches or dints at all! Easier to use, more practical, does what a phone was built to do, call people and occasional pics. No stupid updates from iTunes etc. I rest my case. LOL Edited September 2, 201113 yr by Taylor
September 2, 201113 yr i know about 20 people with iphones and most are happy with them. Some people are very anti-apple so you have to take that into consideration. I am an IT teacher for a living, I have always owned PC's, never Apple computers, so I have if anything, the anti-apple bias others have, yet I love my iphone. In every group of people you will find varying opinions. Ultimately, it is your call. Go for what you like.
September 3, 201113 yr I want a galaxy S 2 - it is super fast and the screen is HUGE. I know of people very happy with their iphones as many are however I also know of people that have changed to this phone after having an iphone and LOVE it (and these people raved about iphones being the best) my soon to be Better half has it already for about 2 weeks and it has work wonderfully, fast, smooth to move around the screen and the battery still last long enough that it isn't on charge all the time
September 3, 201113 yr Dave i am the same pc thru and thru, although i am a network/server/infrastructure nerd haha. I would go as far to sAy im not A fan of macs , they have tjeir place however. All my poats on here over thelast few months are via the iphone, hence rhe funky formatting haha I have huge hands and the accuracy of the iphone keyboard supeises me really as my thumb covers 8 keys easy
September 3, 201113 yr I have an XperiaX10. I do love it, and it has some fantastic features, but if I was given the choice I would much prefer an iPhone. When i get my next phone it WILL be an iPhone. The battery in most smart/touch phones dies quickly, I charge mine every night.

I can get it on a good plan whereas because the galaxy S 2 is newer it will cost me more.
