Ivermectin In Brisbane

Hello everyone!

If you live in Brisbane, have been looking for Ivermectin & intend to attend the Ekka, I have some great news for you!

At the "Bird Pavillion", there is raffle at a table with 2 cages on it: one has 2 budgies in it and the other has a cockatiel.

I mentioned to the man behind the table that I've been looking for some Ivermectin for my budgies & asked if he knew where I might be able to purchase it.

To my surprise, he is selling it at the Ekka this year & I bought some off of him on the spot - too easy!

He told me that the best way to use it was to dip a clean cotton tip into the Ivermectin, part the feathers on the back of the budgie's neck & apply one drop.

To give you an idea of price - it was $12.00 for a bottle about 15cm in height (it doesn't say on the bottle how much it holds).

I hope this helps anyone & everyone in Brisbane currently looking for Ivermectin for their birdies.

Ellie.

Huh, last year I went to the Ekka. At the Bird Pavillion their was a man selling 2 budgies and a cockatiel in two seperate cages AND it was a raffle. Weird.... I remember that because I really wanted to win the cockatiel.... Anyway, guess that is going a bit off topic.

THANKS for the heads up. Great for those up Brisbane way.

Hey guys, find your local Landmark, CRT, Elders merchandise stores and you can buy Ivermectin (cattle pour-on) probably 1L bottles. Easy walk in, pay $, walk out). Sld as Ivomec Pour-On for Cattle, Noromec Pour-On for Cattle, Baymec Pour-On for Cattle......

Thanks Nubbly, you rock!

okay 1ltr may be a bit much but if there are a few people that want to share and go halves/quarters/eighths etc then I'd be happy to buy and share!

Best way to do it Amy! Just make sure that when you split the pack that you store the product out of the light (ivomec is UV sensitive and breaks down in exposure to light).

I'm pretty sure the Ring Steward from my club, ABS, sells it too, he sells most stuff like that. I just emailed him to confirm, he's out Ipswich way I think, but mails stuff and is a top guy. I'll keep you posted if he does.

well I'm not willing to pay the $25 entrance fee just for that.

oh and there is ALWAYS a raffle at the Ekka.

thanks for the info Ellie

I heard from the dude in my club. He has it, so if you want his email pm me. :)

A WORD OF WARNING GUYS. JUST CHECKED WITH MY VET TO MAKE SURE .IVOMECTIN FOR BIRDS IS BROKEN DOWN WITH OTHER THINGS, THEY DON'T USE POUR ON IT'S A DIFFERENT ONE SO YOU COULD KILL YOUR BIRDS IF YOU USE POUR ON. Please check with an Avian vet before using it.

Robyn...........any advice dispensed by Nubbly re pour on ivermectin will be correct info. I believe she has done a topic on this. It is her field of expertise. Dont panic based on the info you obtained from your vet.

Just a quickie - I have some ivermectin that is 8g/L that is used for guinea pig worming - is this a suitable concentration to use on birds?

  • 1 month later...

I'm not 100% sure..... any more information about usage - oral or spot on?
