October 10, 201113 yr Author Gorgeous little chickies! And you may think you are not so organised but I really admire how you can list a pairing and then all the chicks with DOBs ... my chicks are all over the place and while technically I know where they all are it will take me a year and a day to put it all together like you have! Thanks Renee, but most of them are guesses at birth dates, and no idea's of who to match to parents. First lot of chicks is in nursery aviary + cinnamon blue. I then upgraded the next 7 or so chicks to the nursery flight cage. I got about 4 opaline's out in this lot, and another 2 in nests. So 6 chicks from them all up. I am planning on putting them into my lutino's, as the cocks are split. This way, the flecking will not matter. I will cull the hen's I think. Dilute or Clearwings? I don't know... Have parents down as my normal pair. Clearbody looking nice- violet clearbody x sky opaline cock obviously. Violet looking VERY nice and chunky! I will put him in the nest feather show I think. And split clearbody if cock. Only blue and violet parents is the clearbodys.
Now moving onto my nests. Still in nests - Pair 10- Lutino hen who I will put to a opaline split cock I hope Clearbody Violet
Very Interesting chick.....very. My only violet birds are the opaline sky cock/clearbody X violet opaline clearbody. So all chick are opaline, and either clearbody or split. This chick is....like a grey bird. With violet. Violet Grey Clearbody....but the wings are almost opaline spangle looking? Or Dilute? Nest 9- Grey - from grey-green to blue normals? Light Green - Opaline Light Green Clearbody (from the two opaline clearbodies) I know I am pushing the blow up, but you can just see the nice head on it Nest 8 - The other 2 opalines Nest 7- Two more Violet opaline clearbodies Edited October 10, 201113 yr by Squeak_Crumble
December 4, 201113 yr Author Sorry for the no updates....I haven't been as active lately. I have my last 6 pairs down, then will probably wrap up the breeding for the year. A few of those pairs are just play-around's. My nicest cinnamon recessive grey-green hen, to a double factor spangle green cock bird. Will be interesting, ad they are both very nice birds but not sure on the chicks. I have her son (grey-green cinnamon split opaline and rec.pied) to the cinnamon blue hen that's mate escaped. I have the sky blue cock/clearbody to a hen I borrowed from forum member Sunnie. I have the silly lutino hen that likes to nibble and is protective to that big beautiful light green cock bird. These are highly anticipated chicks, they are on 2 I think. I have YF Blue/clearbody cock (from forum member Sunnie as well) to a YF Grey Cinnamon Hen. They are on 4 chicks, from 4 eggs And my last pair is a small cobalt hen who I bred, nice girl, to a lutino cock. He is a bit old, they had 6 fertile eggs, first chick died of yellow belly, second one is still going, and egg 3 and 4 both pipped and died....something wrong there. Other two eggs are just there.
