Posted July 28, 201113 yr I have just completed my little kitchen area. It is not inside my bird room but next door in the first part of the old bird room. Just put the tiles on The drain area out side It is working great now but up till yesterday it was ****, on the outside I had grey water hose coming off it and so the water was running out to slow, actually hardly at all, the sink was full of water, hated it so I went up to the hardware store and got some of this plumbers pipe and voila all is great now. Love it. Just got a few finishing touches like putting the power out on the wall but it is annoying because the cord comes out the wrong way. Edited July 29, 201113 yr by **KAZ**
July 28, 201113 yr Author Yes it's great Finnie, Greg is happy too, he has the wash house back lol. so now that I have moved out of the wash house he is going to paint it on the week end. My new little kitchen is only a couple of steps are from my new birdroom, so it is so much easier than walking up to the house all the time. I just need to by an electric kettle now to sneak out there and use. lol. I have my food processor out there already. I have one of those portable barbeques that I reckon will be okay out there, so I need a saucepan too so I can boil my eggs. lol Very cool, Greg will never know what I am up to.lol
July 29, 201113 yr I am jealous of the fact that you have running water and a sink only steps from your birdroom. At the moment my flight/birdroom is down the very back of the yard (about 30 metres) so I have to drag a hose down there when I do water PS. I like the kettle idea lol
July 29, 201113 yr Author I love my little kitchen Maddy, just love it. It is much better than walking up to the house every five seconds getting water etc. Today I went to the op shop and bought a big old saucepan with a lid to boil water and a small saucepan to boil eggs. I took my little portable barbeque out their and boiled the saucepan of water to wash my dishes because the cold water was to cold for my hands. so cool. Monday I will buy the kettle and smuggle it out there too, lol Greg will never know. But I did tell him before how much I love my kitchen and that I bought a sauce and used my barbe to boil water and guess what he did, rolled his eyes. I am also buying lino for my breeding room floor because I am sick of dropping my little saucer on the floor and they just smash up, no second chances on concrete. But I will have to wait until I finish breeding this year before I can lay it, drat I want it down now. But I found one I like and I think it will look good on the floor. It's good everything is coming together and all I need now is for my birds to breed for me ( fertile eggs and chicks that live) I am sick of the problems I am having.
July 30, 201113 yr Now all you need is a mini fridge, and you will never need to go back in the house! I have a similar problem with water, working in my basement. So I have bottled water down there, and I just use a little to rinse out the drinkers, and dump the rinse water in the trash. For any real cleaning, I have to take stuff upstairs to the kitchen, or outside to the hose.
July 30, 201113 yr Author I know I am lucky and I just love it, Hey Finnie the bar fridge has been on my mind but I don't really think I would get away with that because the power bills are getting bigger I think Greg would put his foot down there, BUT on the same note I think he would love because the bottom of the fridge and part of the door is full of bird meds and he is always saying I hope the grand kids don't touch them so it probably be easy to talk him into it but the power thing would put him off.
