Posted July 24, 201113 yr If I were to breed a lutino hen and a sky blue spangle greywing cock, what color mutations could I expect? I'm not sure if either is split to anything, so I can't provide more information than that.
July 25, 201113 yr Im not sure but i found this so i dont think You would get any lutino chicks but maybe the cocks will be split. so probably sky blue chicks. A normal male budgie and an ino female budgie Offspring Phenotype Results: Males: 100% Normal Females: 100% Normal Offspring Genotype Results: 50% Male split for ino (ZZi) 50% Female normal (ZW) Couldn't find anything about the spangle aspect. July 25, 201113 yr Author Your lutino could be masking ANYTHING so expect surprises. Surprises seem to follow her wherever she goes! Thanks. I was under the impression that a Lutino bird crossed with a blue base would have green chicks? Unless I'm understanding something wrong, which I probably am.

Your lutino is a green budgie. Green is dominant. Paired to a blue bird you will only get greens unless the green bird ( your lutino ) is split for blue
July 28, 201113 yr Couldn't find anything about the spangle aspect. Each chick has a 50% chance of inheriting the spangle gene.
