Another learning experience to test your observation and knowledge.

 

Nest of five chicks rangeing from 11 days to 3 days old. Parents are a Clearwing Violet(sf) Cobalt cock and a Dk Green/Clearwing, Blue Type II.

 

At this point the mutations of the oldest two can be seen. So lets see who can figure out what they are and why.

No clue but i think the oldest could be a green Clearwing, Who knows *shrugs shoulders*.

Chick 1 looks to be a blue normal. Grey down, no yellow (as far as I can see), and there's too much dark on the end of the wings for it to be a clearwing right?

 

Chick 2 I definitely see some yellow there. I'm not sure, but is its down white? I was told that means opaline. I can't see the wings super good, but it looks like it has less dark on its wing tips, so clearwing?

 

Chick 3 looks to have yellow also, but I can't see any other tell tale signs of its type

 

I can't even guess the others lol

 

If there is a tell for clearwing, then I would love to hear it

If it was green those pin feathers would be yellow. They are white.

Nah, no plum eyes in this nest. They all Black.

 

So is anybody else gonna have a shot? If Not I will post what they currently are later tonight.

Fooobaar, I am racking my brain trying to guess these and I just keep ending up with a big jumbled mess of headache

 

I have some ideas but whilst they seem good in my head, when I write them down they just don't gel well.

Is chick 1 a yellowface mutant one normal?

 

Is chick 2 a green clearwing?

Sorry I didn't get to that post. I got distracted then my brain just forgot.

 

So far:

 

Chick 1 = Blue Normal

Chick 2 = Green Clearwing or Dilute

Chick 3 = Normal

Chick 4 = Normal

Chick 5 = ???

 

I will take an updated picture tonight.
