Posted July 23, 201113 yr Hi everyone, Taylor here. It is getting closer and closer to breeding season and I would just like to know what I would get... Here are my pairs: Cobalt Violet factor cock and green opaline hen (this pair is unusual but it was love at first sight for them) grey-green cinnamon cock and dom pied opaline cinnamon sky blue hen (the outcome of these two should be interesting, the hen's father cost the breeder $700!) normal blue cock and normal blue hen (I know, silly question but I think somewhere along the line there was a green in there) Unfortunately for most of these these pairs I don't know much about their parents and siblings. All I know about them is that the dom pied opaline cinnamon sky blue hen's sister looked exactly like her. A few of the cobalt violet factor cock's siblings were violets, to me this means more chances of getting violet chicks from him. If anyone knows what the outcome would be, please reply ASAP as one of my friends is wanting to buy some and she really likes my dom pied opaline cinnamon sky blue hen and it would be great to be able to tell her what she might get. If you need photos just reply to this topic
July 24, 201113 yr http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=23594&st=0 Look at the tables here and you should be able to work out the mutations. Otherwise be patient and I am sure someone will answer you.
July 24, 201113 yr I've pm Kaz but she never replied Some decimate answers would be good Decimate answers or definite answers ? I deleted your impatient posts...............bear in mind people have lives and things to do especially on weekends. I am not hanging around here all the time. Sometimes my pc is on but I am not. Not everyone is into all the types of questions on here either...some are more expert in other areas etc. Try and remember that green is dominant when breeding budgies....anytime you pair a green budgie to a blue budgie you will get green babies UNLESS a parent of the green budgie was blue. Then that green budgie is called split blue and you will have a chance of blue babies. Edited July 24, 201113 yr by **KAZ**

July 28, 201113 yr Hi everyone, Taylor here. It is getting closer and closer to breeding season and I would just like to know what I would get... Here are my pairs: Cobalt Violet factor cock and green opaline hen (this pair is unusual but it was love at first sight for them) Green chicks, unless as Kaz said, the hen had a blue parent, then you could get some blue chicks. All the males will be split for opaline. If the cock happens to be split to opaline, you could get some visual opalines. Do you know what dark factor the hen has? grey-green cinnamon cock and dom pied opaline cinnamon sky blue hen (the outcome of these two should be interesting, the hen's father cost the breeder $700!) Again, all green chicks, unless the cock is split to blue. Whether they are normal green or grey green will depend on whether the cock is single or double factor grey. All the chicks will be cinnamon. About half should be dominant pied, like the mother. Again, the males will be split for opaline, but you won't get any visual opaline unless the cock is split for it. normal blue cock and normal blue hen (I know, silly question but I think somewhere along the line there was a green in there) Green is dominant to blue, so you will only get blues from these. (They have no green in them, even if they came from green parents.) The only way you will get anything from these other than normal blues is if they are carrying recessive genes. For instance, if both parents are split to greywing, or both split to recessive pied. Or if the cock is split to a sex-linked mutation, then you could get females in that mutation. Unfortunately for most of these these pairs I don't know much about their parents and siblings. All I know about them is that the dom pied opaline cinnamon sky blue hen's sister looked exactly like her. A few of the cobalt violet factor cock's siblings were violets, to me this means more chances of getting violet chicks from him. Since he has the violet factor himself, it won't matter if his siblings have it, you already know he does. So some of his chicks will be violet factored. If anyone knows what the outcome would be, please reply ASAP as one of my friends is wanting to buy some and she really likes my dom pied opaline cinnamon sky blue hen and it would be great to be able to tell her what she might get. If you need photos just reply to this topic. Photos would be great, if you have them. Then we can help you figure out dark factors.
