Hi there, please may I have help to sex these pied birds I have 'on hold' till I get your advice??

Are either of these male?? Im looking for a male for future pairing with my violet hen, but thought maybe these are both female?

 

(sorry I had to use the flash, I know it doesn't help)

Update...have now purchased that lovely little male (No. 2) & he is gorgeous...has beautiful violet rump! :) :) :)

Love the pieds, maybe he's split spangle looking at his markings & cheek patches,( mind you I'm only thinking out loud) Is you violet a normal ? Should make pretty chicks. :blush:

 

 

 

Just re-read info. apparently he can't be split spangle because it's a dom factor but his chicks may show it if he is carrying it ( I'M STILL THINKING OUT LOUD) l.o.l.

Split spangle ? :blink: NO. Carrying it is also the same as saying split. Spangle is dominant. Either one is or isnt.
