Posted July 5, 201114 yr We babysat a friends budgie for 4 months and were devastated when she went home again.... so took that to mean the family was ready for a budgie of our own. We picked up a hand-reared budgie approximately 8-9 weeks old. We have spent the last 2 weeks randomly saying "him", "her", "it", but it's starting to do my head in.... I was hoping someone could have an educated guess as to what gender our newest family member is... thanks Also, you may notice the funny looking feathers on either side of his/her beak..... are these just baby feathers that will fall out or I have we picked the ugliest bird in town?
July 5, 201114 yr The feather thing on the side of its face is due to being handreared. They get food on their face and when it gets picked off or wiped off sometimes feathers go with it. the feathers will grown back in shortly. Your budgie is a BOY budgie.....sky violet or cobalt...harder to tell the shade as you used a flash on the camera PS Welcome Edited July 5, 201114 yr by **KAZ**
