Posted June 30, 201113 yr Hi all. Have some concerns about the health of my budgie. Jessie is normally a very friendly bird and loves to follow you around the house. About a week ago Jessie started acting strangely: - Became easily spoked and hid in his cage - Has started losing feathers. Dont believe he is molting as a relatively has a budgie and they usually molt at similar times. in some places on his head if you look hard enough you can see his skin- refer image - The cere has darkened from a beige colour to a red / burgandy shade. A week later he is losing alot less feathers (approx 4 a day) He is not so easily spoked and is more open to attention. Jessie is still acting a little different. Not sure what else i can tell you, Thought i better post up in case there is some thing I need to worry about? I have attached an image from 2 weeks ago and also an image of today for comparisons sake Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Oops, how do I attach images from my hard drive?

We got into the habbit of refering to him as a boy in the early days... Firstly .........you refer to he and he is a she as evident by cere colour change Moults do not always happen at the same time. A moult might also be forced by a change in diet. I forgot that pictures needed to be hosted. Appetite is fine. pope is pretty normal as well...?
July 1, 201113 yr Author Come to think of it we have noticed rubbing the head / beak area on her Canary swing.... Jessie has molted a few times before, but never looked this scruffy and the behavior change occured at the same time?
