Hi, well I just bought this aviary (well my dad did ) and I was wondering what everyone thinks of it. And also how many budgies could you fit in there?

When we got it I noticed that the gaps in the wire were pretty big so we'll have to fix that up. I would hate to wake up one morning and find that one of my budgies has flown away, or even worse all of them! But my mum and dad are now thinking I'm colony breeding! But I'm trying to tell them nicely that I AM NOT! At one stage they actually got me convinced it might work, but I just don't won't to risk it.

It looks quite good, it is a suspended aviary, I don't think you would fit to many in . maybe 10.. It is 200mt wide that's good but It isn't very deep so the rain will get right to the back. I would ask your dad to put tine on the whole roof and enclose one end, like where the tin or roof is already and there is tin on the end, well I would enclose that whole end in so the birds have some protection the elements and their seed stays dry. Rats that's where the door is. Well maybe if your dad puts tin on the whole roof and having it hanging over more than it is now the rain might not get is as far.

Thanks Splat, I'll ask him. I know what you mean about the sleeping area type thing. I was thinking of getting a shade cloth or something and putting it over it to keep out the wind and rain a bit. At least it's not windy or rainy now but I guess I haven't got any birds in it yet!!

Whoops, the ad has been removed. Tomorrow I'll take a photo of it. Basically it's an aviary on stilts, a suspended aviary. I know it's 2 metres long or wide, I'm not sure!

Thats a decent aviary, not too sheltered though but I guess it depends where you are placing it too.

It doesnt look like it but I actually quoted that from Nim, well the colony breeding part anyway. iPod is stuffing everything up on this website.
