Cosmo and Sparkles have started mating recently. Today I observed them and Cosmo (boy) would be on top and then after he had gotten off Sparkles (hen) would get onto his back and appeared to be mating with him below her.

 

I've not seen this one before! Has anyone else?

 

They have been at it all afternoon. So I'm hoping we will have eggs in the next 10 days or so.

Thanks. That is exactly what she is doing. Must be normal I guess He seemed quite okay with it all too.

i guess it is normal hopefully you get some babies

well nothing will get fertile that way

They seem to be doing it in ALL sorts of ways this afternoon. So I'm pretty hopeful something went right today at least. They were pretty rampant all afternoon.

 

Cosmo is all fluffed up asleep (I wonder if he had a birdie cigarette after) and Sparkles in ensconsed in the nesting box.

 

I was pretty amused and the kids were grossed out...!! (young teens!!!) LOL.
