Sleeping A Lot

Featured Replies

Hey guys, Dalek has been sleeping a lot lately. He hasn't lost weight as i've felt his bone and it's fine, he's eating fine, drinking fine and also bounds around when he's out of his cage. But he has just been sleeping a lot, even when he's on me he'll curl up under my jacket and sleep or sleep on my shoulder.

I'm wondering if this is a start of something worse or if he's just cold or even lazy. I am doing my best to keep him warm, lots of time in the sun, heater on, covering up three sides of his cage to keep him warm. I'm wondering if there is anything else I could do to help him, as I am starting to get really worried.

Really worried is why he needs some tests by an avian vet....poop tests, blood work.

Sleepy is a sign he isnt well.

Thanks Cheeky,

That's very sad.

Very sad to hear. I was messaging Jabberwocky telling him much earlier on that Dalek didnt look well in those posed photos he was doing and I was urging the need for a vet visit. I said to stop doing the posed photo topic and get him well. It was evident if you look back in those photos that Dalek was not a well budgie.

Stop with the staged photos already Every photo he is in ....he is not looking well or happy. Forget the photo topic and get him well. If it means a vet....then go.

I remember that Kaz. (By the way, I think Jabberwocky is a she).

If you're reading this, Jabberwocky, I am very sorry about Dalek, and hope you're okay. It is very hard to lose a much-loved pet.

Sorry Jabberwocky :( .............you were so in love with your budgie and I feel for your loss. This just shows how important it is to act FAST when things dont look quite right.
