Posted May 23, 201114 yr Sparkles and Cosmo have been in the cabinet together for a week now. They are doing all the right things. Lots of grooming and him feeding her, and they spend a lot of the day in the nest box together. I haven't seen them mating, but that's possible as I am trying not to disturb them too much. I know it can take up to three weeks, but do you think I'm being too impatient after a week? First time for both of them. they have everything I can think of they might need. I'm just so damned excited to have babies again! Sigh. Patience is a virtue... I must remember that!!!
May 23, 201114 yr yep even more so whn budgies are concerned. they never seem to want to follow our plans. sounds like it is all going well.
May 23, 201114 yr Eggs usually a week to ten days after you see them actively mating so ............yes....be patient
May 23, 201114 yr Author Sigh... thank you both. I'll stop eyeballing them and give them time Poor things probably think I am a weirdo....
May 23, 201114 yr Agree... be patient. Also, if you keeping watching them and checking on them, they'll be able to pick up on your tension/stress. Relax, sit back and let them do their business
