sup guys,

just to ask, my budgiues do love and preen eachother,

but seem to not breed, they have just recently gone into the nest box in and out for about 2 weeks now,

and i a getting concerned about it not laying eggs, will she, the hen stays in there mostly and

the boy goes out and eat food then back in, plz tell me how to raise them up just in case

I wouldn't they will fight and kill each other once they start bonding. They will fight over the nest etc

Breeding Sky Blues is a good idea! They are beautiful birds. What colour are you birds now? If you post pictures we will be able to tell you if you have the right genders and ages of the birds. Also, where do you plan on breeding them? Do you have an aviary or cage or something?

Might be now getting a new cage and keeping 1 pair and nest box pair cage.

It's great you want to learn about breeding. There is a lot you need to know before you can just put two birds in a cage and expect eggs/chicks. I'd suggest looking through our breeding topics and our FAQ's. Once you get through all of the information found on the forum, then ask the questions you have. It also helps to keep a list of things you want to know on a note pad by the computer and as you find the information you can write it down.

 

Also, just from what you have written above, how big is this 'very large cage' you want to breed two birds in? It sounds like colony breeding and it would be much better to do as you wrote further down... one pair and a nest box PER cage... but again, please read up on the information already here.
