May 18, 201113 yr Author Good to hear! He is really impressive to look at. When I was dropping the grey green hen at a show today(hoping for some tips from the breeders and judges) and looked at the other bird in my untrained eyes it seemed as if Neo would have held up to the competition. Thanks for the input! Would anyone be able to spell the new birds colours out to me? and possibly what I could expect as far as future chicks go?

May 18, 201113 yr Author Thanks so much GB, very very helpful. I am going to read up on these colours and see what I find out. I'm happy that ones a violet! I just thought she was some kind of blue!
May 18, 201113 yr she seems to me to be sky violet i could be wrong and if i am shes just plain cobalt but either colour she is handy to have and a good hen id buy her if saw her i love a hen like her very handy type of hen usually great mothers two the sky and sky violet should produces you sky blues or sky violets but nothing else if shes a cobalt they will give you sky and cobalt chicks but both beings spangle you could end up with df spangles in sky or sky violet but you wont know as they are white if you could get hold of a cobalt cock normal not spangled can be opaline just not spangled could even be a pied... you will be able to see if she is indeed sky violet or just cobalt as a cobalt to cobalt rezults in mauve cobalt and violet chicks or violet mauve a cobalt to cobalt just mauve or cobalt chicks Edited May 18, 201113 yr by GenericBlue

May 19, 201113 yr Well there is a marked cage,if ever I seen one.Razz, you will need to buy your self, some Budgie, show cages before you go to a Budgie Show,or they will disqualified you for what is called a marked cage as it is not a standard cage. It looks to be a Canary Cage.

It looks to be a Canary Cage. That's an interesting point, Macka. In the photo, there are 17 standard cages, and 7 smaller ones that look like RazzleDazzle's cage. I wonder why there are so many of the smaller ones?
May 22, 201113 yr Author The club I'm in lets members borrow show cages if they are just starting out. Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to get the right ones when I invest in some
