Dad is normal grey and mum is grey spangle, so who knows you could be right.

he has great feather a crossed back of his head

his brothers got nice thick body two very handy birds i actually prefer his brother although the grey is the better bird by feather and quality's

i think the brother will provide more useful

Very nice Taboo, I like the blue the best he looks like he has more width across the face, the spangle is nice too.

now you need to focus on directional feather.

The lace wing is very pretty.

Isn't funny how different all our tastes are, for me I like the looks of my grey even if he's not up to show standards.

Geoff the grey is probably better than the blue because photos can make them you better and worse, see if you can get a photo of them looking at the camera instead of looking down. But you are on your way, it is a slow hard long journey to breeding top exhibitions birds. cheers

There hard to get photos of, they never seem to stay in one spot for very long.

I'll get some pics of two more lacewings I'v bred and an albino all are 3 months old.

Thank you Maddy, the lacewing has two younger sisters, so I'm hoping there as good or better.

GB I still struggle with the feather thing, and I pair up more on there looks like size, blow, color, mask, then anything else.

And thats why I ask you guys, so I can learn the in's and out's of what makes a good bird.

Mate this is what you want , Pair to a hen with some impact spot and the pieces of the puzzle are in place.

 

Put the parents back together and try to breed some more like him . Goodluck.

Grey is one of my Favorite "mutations" then add Spangle and I'm hooked lol

 

I have both Grey and grey spangle I couldn't choose a favorite between the two its too hard lol

 

But I didn't think Spangle changed the body color but I notice your Grey spangle is a lot lighter than your Normal grey - now that I have a normal Grey at home to compare mine to (its hard to compare with pictures) does Spangle actually lighten the body color? because my Non spangle greys are darker than my Spangle Grey, Even my Cinnamon Greys are Darker than my Spangle greys

what is the pair that gave it?? I've been trying to figure out the best way to get lace wings- or rather the best pairing to get a higher chance of getting them - I know its not easy and they're pretty low on the totem pole of possible outcomes IF you don't already have one to work with

 

I have all the mutations needed to make one and In the proper genders Just not sure how to pair them up to get the best out come of getting one

K&M I got my lacewings by breeding a Cinnamon Grey Green, split Lacewing cock to a Grey opaline spangle hen.

This may not be the best pairing but it work okay for me. In one round they had 6 babies. I got 2 lacewings hens, 1 albino hen, 1 grey spangle cock,

1 grey green spangle cock and 1 cinnamon grey hen. You will need to purchase a spilt lacewing cock or a lacewing cock.
