I just made a large cage (180x90x45 (cm)) but I haven't got any bird yet. I want to buy some budgies (4 or 5 pairs) in different colours and "hopefully" I can breed them. I have looked around my area and the budgies they sell are quite expensive (25-45 each). I just found this topic and see that there are some breeders around Geelong. Could you guys sell me some pairs at good price please. I dont need really good quality birds but I need healthy and colourful ones.

Sorry for my bad English since I'm not very good at that. Hope you guys understand and can sell me some good ones.

a co-worker went back to tas to visit his father who is a bird fan in tassie. apparently there was an auction in the past week, ive been told Mr. Mysterious picked up 15 birds for abit over 2k. wow!

also a pair of young opaline violets for just over $400

i had said to barny that i didnt think birds were allowed from tassie anymore

if they are id like to know :} is it new zealand im thinking of maybe MMM anyone

Birds can leave Tassie. Plenty of breeders send birds to mainland auctions. To bring birds into Tassie we need to notify the authorities of where the birds are coming from and how many. Also no seed to be in the cage. If there is seed in the cage, the birds need to be removed and the seed confiscated.( this is budgies anyways and my own experience). What sort of birds Barney, there was a parrot sale just recently at the showgrounds. I know there are some laws on what parrots and finches can be brought in and out of tassie. Tassie is a bit screwy, I breed fish and can't even sell my babies here in Tassie. I can sell a tank with fish in it, but can't sell fish by themselves. Reason I am getting back into birds, plus I just love the budgies.

Colony breeding 4-5 pairs in that size cage will give you problems
