Posted April 15, 201114 yr These are my first I my first couple I have bought with my own money, late last year. I bought these at the pet store after I remembered my first flock of birds I had years ago. Shredder, on the left. Shredette on the right. I named them cause they always like to nibble on things, more than the ones I have now. Shredder and Shredette resting outside their first cage. Later on I got them something bigger and wider. These are the second I couple I got. I haven't named them yet. But the one closer to the camera is a male, and the one in the back is a female. She's the youngest one I got. During this time she had her feathers clipped and couldn't fly away far so the only thing she could do is to give in and rest. I got this cage later on, and put them together but they wouldn't get along and until this day they still don't. I seperated the greens from the blues. My latest additions are the two yellow ones. I still havent named them. They were getting to know the blue ones outside the cage one day. I moved these four together in a new cage (not pictured) i got with them. April 15, 201114 yr You're starting to get yourself an entire flock! I've only got one. He was a rescue budgie. I don't know how I'd cope with that many flying around the house. As it is I spend half the day picking up after all the stuff mine keeps throwing off the benches and table. He loves hurling things off from a great height, then watching from the edge and listening to the clang, thud, ping, boing noises each item makes.
April 16, 201114 yr Suggestion...........remove the nest basket or it will encourage thoughts of early and underaged breeding. They dont need places to sleep like that at all.

Some of mine like hurling things around too. They do the weirdest things. They're all cute. Suggestion...........remove the nest basket or it will encourage thoughts of early and underaged breeding. This picture was from a little while back and I don't have the young birds in that cage anymore. The nest basket is gone too since they tore it apart themselves. I only have the green older birds in there. I installed a nest box for them but the female has only gone inside to mess around, i think. Nothing yet. I have an updated picture of the cage where my young ones are but I don't have access to it right now. But thanks for the suggestion. How old do your budgies have to be before considering installing a nest box? Considering they're all about a month old.
